Spreading Smiles is a non-profit organization composed of UC Davis students who are dedicated to improving the health (and thus the quality of life) of both our local and global communities.Many of our members are also members of PDS. Don't miss the website of the Pre-Dental Society
Among the service projects that we carry out are an upcoming expedition to the Amazon in March to improve the dental hygiene of the residents in various areas, and appearances to local schools to inspire and teach better oral care to younger students.
Though we are few, the lives that we change are healthier and they in turn can educate and uplift others.
Health Volunteers Overseas states, "Access to health care is fundamental to our quality of life and, for the world's poorest, it is essential in the daily struggle for survival. Yet, three billion people live without basic health care services.
In all nations, human beings - physicians, nurses, dentists, physical therapists and other professionals - are the foundation of health care systems. The delivery of services pivots on the availability of these trained professionals to provide care."
